I recently purchased a collectible ornament from this store. The ornament was a display unit. The store clerk repackaged the item in tissue paper. The other ornament I bought was packaged in form fitting plastic. Upon arriving home and opening the item, the item was broke. The store refuses to honor the return policy as stated on their cash register receipt. The store stated they would not refund/exchange the item without the store receipt. After driving into the store they refused to refund/exchange the item after I presented the receipt. The return policy on the receipt indicates that with a receipt that I have 30 days.

WOW! I wasn't expecting this place to have good customer service because of the reviews but I was so relieved when the woman on the phone went above and beyond helping me find a card over the phone. It was a short phone call, she knew exactly what I was looking for! I haven't been in the store yet, but does it matter when I have already recieved good service from an employee there? That's all I ever want these days and I am VERY satisfied with their level of customer service, like enough to write a review which I don't do too often. I'll be back to give them 5stars after I pick my card up. I just wanna make sure this isn't a fluke. I am so used to getting crappy customer service that it seems more normal than not, unfortunately.

The hallmark website also states -

"If for any reason you aren't completely satisfied with your purchase from Hallmark, simply return it to the store where you bought the item." and "With a receipt, you may choose a refund or exchange."

The hallmark customer services simply tells me that each store manages their own return policy.

The entire chain of Hallmark stores has lost me as customer.

***Closing hours today*** (Friday) are 8p not 9p, fyi. The lady on the phone was so appologetic too to tell me that the hours online were wrong. A LOT of businesses have the wrong hours listed on Google so it is always good to call and check... from my own experience at least.
